We’ve got some brilliant news to share with our cycling community – Stamford Cycling is now officially part of Cycling UK!
After a recent ride and refuel at Fika, we were chatting about how to keep our rides exactly as we all love them – casual, friendly, and without any unnecessary complications. That’s when joining Cycling UK came up, and it just made perfect sense.
So what does this actually mean for us? Well, the good stuff is that absolutely nothing changes about the relaxed, come-as-you-are vibe of our weekend rides and midweek spins. We’re still meeting at the usual spots, still ending at our favourite cafes (Castle Bytham’s Community Shop remains firmly on the detour list!), and definitely still welcoming riders of all abilities.
The even better stuff is what we gain. We’re now covered by Cycling UK’s insurance while we ride, which gives us peace of mind without needing to fill out complicated paperwork or implement formal structures. We can keep organising our spontaneous meet-ups just as we always have, but with the backing of a national organisation that’s been supporting cyclists since 1878.
For those who’ve been riding with us for a while, you know we’ve always been about keeping things simple – no membership fees, no strict rules about pace or fancy gear, just good people enjoying good rides around our beautiful corner of Lincolnshire. That’s not changing one bit.
If you fancy joining us and make the most of the warmer weather this week, we’ll be heading out on our Wednesday around 6pm, meeting in Red Lion Square followed by a refuel in town.
Bring your bike and bring your smile – see you on the road.
