Cycling in Stamford isn’t just about picturesque routes through historic streets and countryside – it’s also about celebrating the passionate local businesses that fuel our community. Enter Cycling Punx, a South Witham based brand shaking up the cycling apparel scene with bold designs, affordability, and a rebellious spirit.
Who Are Cycling Punx?
Founded by Darragh McBride, a lifelong cyclist and member of the Witham Wheelers club, Cycling Punx was born from frustration with overpriced, generic cycling gear. Darragh’s vision? To create high quality, stylish clothing that reflects individuality without the premium price tag. Key features of the new brand:
- Punk inspired aesthetics: Think bold paint splatter designs blending 1980s grit with futuristic flair.
- Affordable pricing: Jerseys start at £70 and currently on offer for £50, roughly a third of the price of ultra premium brands.
- Family run ethos: Darragh handles designs, while partner Leanne manages sales and social media – with their cat, Frank, overseeing operations.
What Sets Them Apart?
1. Style Meets Substance
Cycling Punx merges Darragh’s passions of punk music and cycling. “It’s about styling your attitude,” he explains. Their winter collection emphasises durability for Lincolnshire’s chilly rides, while summer gear (launching soon) promises lightweight, breathable fabrics.
2. Community Driven Values
Beyond clothing, Darragh plans to sponsor youth cycling teams and earn British Cycling coaching qualifications. “I want to help young riders grow – not just sell jerseys,” he says.
Wrapping Up: Why Cycling Punx Deserves a Space in Your Wardrobe
Cycling Punx isn’t just stitching jerseys – they’re stitching personality into Stamford’s cycling scene. With their rebellious designs, wallet-friendly prices, and commitment to nurturing local talent, Darragh and Leanne have crafted more than a brand – they’ve built a rallying point for riders tired of blending into the peloton.
Whether you’re tackling Lincolnshire’s frosty lanes or cruising Stamford’s cobbles, their gear lets you ride loud, ride local, and ride unapologetically you. Support homegrown grit because cycling culture thrives when we pedal together.
