The short version

Black Friday 2026 is Friday 27 November, with Cyber Monday on the 30th. Stamford Cycling offers work right now and all year: 20% off Strava annual, 10% off Yellow Jersey insurance and five free weeks of ROUVY. Club Discount Codes That Work All Year

These aren’t Black Friday specials that vanish by Tuesday. They’re the offers we’ve set up for the club, and anyone can use them. Two are sent by email rather than printed here, because that’s how the brands have asked us to share them.

Why we rate it
The whole club runs on it. Every route lives in our Strava club, every Sunday Social is an event you can RSVP to, and the segments keep things gently competitive. If you’re going to pay for it anyway, don’t pay full price.
Good to know
For new subscribers on an annual plan. Redeem it on the Strava website, not in the app. The discount covers your first year.
Skip if
You only record rides and never use routes or segments. The free version does that fine.

Checked 4 Nov 2026 · Works all year

Why we rate it
If Black Friday means a new bike, it’s worth sorting cover before it’s leaning against the hallway wall. Yellow Jersey is a UK specialist cycle insurer, and our riders get 10% off.
Good to know
We’re not an insurance broker and this isn’t advice. Read the policy wording, and check what your home insurance already covers before you buy.

Your home insurance already covers your bike away from home for what it’s worth.

Checked 4 Nov 2026 · Works all year

Why we rate it
It’s where our Thursday evening ride lives now the light’s gone, so you’ll have company. Riding real-world video routes makes an hour on the turbo go a lot quicker than staring at the garage wall.
Good to know
We earn nothing from the trial itself, only if you decide to keep paying afterwards. Set a reminder if you don’t want it to roll on.
Skip if
You haven’t got a turbo trainer yet. Sort that first, then come back for the trial.

Ride with us and there’s more

Best Black Friday Turbo Trainer Deals

Our Thursday evening ride moved indoors onto ROUVY in mid-October, and with the clocks gone back, most of us are thinking about the turbo again. These are the two setups we’d look at first. Both come with 10% off through our link, and the discount’s applied in the basket, so there’s no code to fiddle with.

Checked 4 Nov 2026

Why we rate it
A direct-drive trainer you can leave set up in the corner: bike on, ride, bike off. The Cog & Click setup puts a single cog on the trainer that suits most road bikes, so swapping bikes is less faff.
Good to know
Similar 10% pricing has been listed direct from Zwift too, so it’s worth a quick compare. Buy wherever the after-sales suits you.
Skip if
You’ve got a wheel-on trainer that works fine and you ride indoors once a month. Try the ROUVY trial on that first.

Checked 4 Nov 2026

Why we rate it
A dedicated indoor bike that sits on the KICKR CORE 2, so your road bike stays clean and ready for Sundays. It suits riders who’ll be on it two or three times a week all winter.
Good to know
Similar pricing has been listed direct from Zwift, so compare before you buy. If you saw it at £899 in October, that festival price ended on 18 October.
Skip if
You haven’t got the floor space, or you’ll only ride indoors now and then. A trainer for your own bike does the job for less than half the money.

Black Friday Winter Kit We’re Watching

Since the clocks went back, our Sunday rides set off a little later to make the most of the light. You’ll still meet grey mornings, wet lanes out towards Ketton and Collyweston, and the odd tractor’s worth of mud. This is the kit we’d buy for that, and we’ll add specific deals here once we’ve checked the prices ourselves.

LightsWatching

Front and rear lights

What we look for
  • A front light you can actually see with on unlit lanes
  • A rear that’s bright in daylight, not just after dark
  • USB-C charging and honest run times
  • A mount that won’t rattle loose
Good to know
The Highway Code (rule 60) says you must have white front and red rear lights lit at night, plus a red rear reflector and amber pedal reflectors on bikes made after October 1985.

MudguardsWatching

Mudguards

What we look for
  • Enough clearance for your tyre width
  • Full guards if your frame has eyelets, clip-ons if it doesn’t
  • A long rear flap for whoever’s on your wheel
Good to know
We don’t make anyone fit them. But the rider behind you on a wet Sunday will quietly love you if you do.

Hands & feetWatching

Overshoes and gloves

What we look for
  • Overshoes sized to your actual shoe size
  • Windproof gloves that still let you work the shifters
  • A thinner pair for those bright, cold mornings
Good to know
Cold hands and feet end more winter rides than tired legs. This is where a small spend goes furthest.

LayersWatching

Gilets, jerseys and base layers

What we look for
  • A windproof gilet that packs into a pocket
  • A long-sleeve jersey with a decent collar
  • A merino or synthetic base layer
Good to know
Layers beat one big jacket. When the sun finally turns up near Empingham, you can peel one off.

Black Friday Garmin Deals: Which Edge to Watch

Garmin launched the Edge 1060 on 20 October, which usually means the model it replaces starts getting cheaper. Here’s how the current range stacks up, with launch prices so you can tell a real deal from a dressed-up one.

JT
Johnny

I personally can’t live without my Garmin 540. I’ve set it up so it works with my Shimano 105 Di2 and can control the screens from my shifters. Here’s how I set it up.

Garmin Edge range, November 2026
ModelScreen and controlsLaunch priceBest forBlack Friday
Edge 5502.7in bright screen, buttons only£379.99Riders who set it up once and mostly record ridesWatching
Edge 8502.7in touchscreen plus buttons£469.99Most road riders who charge it after each rideWatching
Edge 10603.5in touchscreen plus buttons, voice control£699.99Big-screen navigation and longer battery lifeBrand new, so don’t expect much off

The one we’d keep an eye on

The outgoing Edge 1050 is already being discounted. If you want a big screen without paying launch money, that’s where we’d expect the best Black Friday price.

A good deal is one that’s lower than it’s been all autumn, not just lower than the launch price. Check the price history before you click buy.

Worth a look too: rear radar

A radar rear light tells you when a car’s coming up behind on the narrow lanes, and it doubles as a bright daytime rear light. If you’re choosing between a new computer and a radar this winter, it’s a fair question to ask.

Shimano and parts

Shimano and Wear Parts: Stock Up, Don’t Splurge

Black Friday is a good time to buy the boring bits you’ll need anyway. Winter grit chews through drivetrains, and a spare chain and brake pads in the drawer can save a Sunday.

What to check before you buy

  • ChainsMatch your drivetrain’s speed. A 12-speed chain won’t play nicely on an 11-speed bike, and a cheap chain checker tells you when it’s time.
  • CassettesOnly if a stretched chain has worn the cassette too. Check the speed and the range you’re running.
  • Brake padsRim or disc, and for discs, resin or metal. Check what your calipers take before you add to basket.
  • TyresA bit more puncture protection makes sense on gritty winter lanes. Check your frame clearance before going wider.

Running Di2?

The 105 Di2 shifters run on CR1632 coin cells, and they’re surprisingly hard to find in Stamford. Black Friday’s a good time to put a spare pack in the drawer. Here’s how I replaced mine, and how to check your Di2 battery level.

Filming rides

Action Camera Deals for Filming Club Rides

What I learned filming two club rides

In July I filmed two club rides with a DJI Osmo Action 6 and a DJI Mic 3, with my phone as backup. The honest takeaway: you can film a ride or enjoy it, not both.

  • A mic with a windshield for the faster stretches

The honest bit

Black Friday Cycling Deals We’d Skip

Not every Black Friday price is a bargain. When Which? tracked 208 Black Friday products, 98% were the same price or cheaper at some point in the six months either side. So here’s what we’d leave in the basket.

  1. A full indoor bike when you’ll ride indoors once a monthTry the free ROUVY trial on what you’ve already got. If you’re still on it in January, then upgrade.
  2. A “saving” against a price nobody ever paidIf the “was” price is an RRP the product never really sold at, the saving isn’t real. Check what it cost in October.
  3. Unbranded lights with huge lumen claimsIf a £15 light says 2,000 lumens, it doesn’t. Buy a known brand with honest run times.
  4. A new bike in the wrong size because it’s 40% offA bike that doesn’t fit is the most expensive deal on the internet. Get measured, or ask a local shop first.
  5. A top-end computer just to follow the odd routeIf you mostly record rides and follow a route now and then, an Edge 550 or 850 does it all for less.
  6. A year’s supply of energy gelsThey go out of date, and you’ll find a flavour you hate. Buy enough for the winter.

How we pick

How We Pick These Deals

The offers marked Ad come from brands we’ve partnered with as an affiliate partner. We only partner with brands whose products we use in the club, so what you see here is kit we know from our own rides, not a round-up of whatever happens to be on sale.

  • Kit we know

We’re an affiliate partner of the brands behind our Ad offers, and we use their products in the club, from planning every route on Strava to our Thursday ride on ROUVY. So you’re getting kit we know, not kit we’ve read about. Anything still waiting on a good price sits on our watch list, marked Watching.

  • Prices we’ve seen

Every price is checked on the retailer’s own page before it goes up. “Normal price” means what it usually sells for. If we can’t verify a saving, we don’t show one.

  • Updated or taken down

Deals move fast in November. If a price changes or an offer ends, we update it or take it down, and the date at the top changes too.

  • Ad means Ad

Links marked Ad may earn us commission. It never changes your price and never decides what makes the list. It does help keep every club ride free.

Questions

Black Friday Cycling FAQs

When is Black Friday 2026 in the UK?+
Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November, and Cyber Monday follows on Monday 30 November. Plenty of cycling retailers start their sales earlier in November, so we’ll keep this page updated from now until Cyber Monday.
Do your club codes work on Black Friday?+
Yes. Our Strava, Yellow Jersey and ROUVY offers aren’t Black Friday specials, so they work now, on Black Friday and afterwards. If a brand runs its own sale at the same time, check which saves you more, as codes usually can’t be combined with other offers.
Is Black Friday a good time to buy a turbo trainer?+
It can be. November is when most of us move indoors, so trainers are one of the busiest Black Friday categories. Our 10% off link for the Wahoo KICKR CORE 2 bundle isn’t tied to Black Friday, so there’s no need to panic-buy. If you’re not sure you’ll use a trainer, try the free ROUVY trial first.
Are Black Friday cycling deals actually cheaper?+
Not always. When Which? tracked 208 Black Friday products, it found 98% were the same price or cheaper at some point in the six months before or after. Check what something sold for in October before you trust a big saving. We only show savings we’ve checked ourselves.
Do I need to be a Stamford Cycling member to use these codes?+
No. Anyone can use our Strava, Yellow Jersey and ROUVY offers. Our other perks from Two Chimps Coffee, Veloforte, Ruff and Tumble and TICC Clothing are shared in the club WhatsApp group once you’ve done a couple of rides, and joining the club is free.
Do I need insurance for a bike I buy on Black Friday?+
It isn’t a legal requirement in the UK, but it’s worth checking what your home insurance covers, especially when the bike is away from home. Specialist cycle insurance can cover theft, accidental damage and third-party liability, and our riders get 10% off Yellow Jersey. We’re not an insurance broker, so please read the policy wording and decide what’s right for you.
Can I use the Cycle to Work scheme on Black Friday deals?+
Sometimes. It depends on the retailer and your scheme provider. Some shops accept scheme vouchers on sale items and some don’t, so check before you order.
How do you choose these deals?+
We only list kit our riders use, or kit we’d happily buy ourselves, and we check every price on the retailer’s own page before it goes up. If a deal ends or the price changes, we update it or take it down.
Do you earn money from these links?+
Sometimes. Anything marked Ad is an affiliate or referral offer, so we may earn a small commission if you buy. It never changes the price you pay, and it helps keep Stamford Cycling’s rides free for everyone.
