We’re thrilled to announce that Stamford Cycling is currently in discussions with Active Rutland via Rutland County Council to organise three special rides as part of their Walking and Cycling Festival in May 2025!
Planned Rides
Our vision includes three distinct cycling experiences to cater to all levels of cyclists, with plans to stop at local cafes and cycling hotspots.:
- Road Cycling Challenge – A longer distance route for experienced cyclists looking to test their endurance while enjoying Rutland’s beautiful countryside.
- Intermediate Road Ride – A more accessible road route with a shorter distance, perfect for those building their confidence on two wheels.
- Family Friendly Rutland Water Adventure – A relaxed, traffic free route designed specifically for families with children of all ages, culminating in a social BBQ where we can all celebrate together.
Still in Development
These plans are currently taking shape to finalise routes, logistics, and timings. We’re particularly excited about the family ride and BBQ combination, which we hope will create a wonderful community atmosphere and introduce more people to the joys of cycling.
Get Involved!
We’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions about these planned events. What would make these rides special for you? Any particular routes around Rutland you’d recommend? Ideas for the family ride or BBQ? Drop a comment below with your input!
Keep checking back on our website regularly as we’ll be updating with more details in the coming months. Routes, registration information, and exact dates will all be announced as soon as they’re confirmed.
Watch this space – May 2025 is going to be an exciting time for Stamford Cycling and the wider cycling community!
