Four rides, across two weekends in the beautiful Rutland countryside
Join Stamford Cycling on four exceptional rides as part of Rutland Walking and Cycling Festival’s 25th anniversary. Experience the stunning Rutland countryside with our 30km Roamer and 50km Challenger routes across 18th & 25th May.
The Festival runs from 17th to 30th May, featuring over 30 walking and cycling activities across the historic county. As proud partners to Active Rutland, we’re excited to contribute to this milestone celebration with rides designed for casual riders and those looking for a challeng.

Our Festival Ride Options
30km Rutland Roamer
Available 18th & 25th May | Starting at 8am. A scenic 30km circular route perfect for intermediate cyclists, featuring rolling hills and views of Rutland’s picturesque countryside. This ride maintains a comfortable 20km/h average pace with a relaxed atmosphere.
Highlights include:
- Quiet country lanes.
- Stunning views across Rutland’s undulating landscape.
- Route guidance from Johnny or Si.
50km Rutland Challenger
Available 18th & 25th May | Starting at 8am. A more challenging 50km route still taking in those views, perfect for more experienced riders looking for a rewarding challenge, with a slightly faster average pace between 20-25 km/h.
Highlights include:
- Extended route through Rutland’s scenic areas.
- More rewarding climbs and descents.
- Route guidance from Johnny or Si.
Registration Information
- Completely free to participate – part of Stamford Cycling’s commitment to promoting cycling in our area.
- Booking managed through the Active Rutland Festival website, linked below.
- Registration deadline: 11th May.
- Limited spaces available – to ensure a safe and high quality experience.
Event Day Information
- Meeting point: Red Lion Square, Stamford.
- Arrival time: 7:45am for short briefing and route overview
- Departure time: 8:00am prompt
- What to bring: helmet (mandatory), water bottle, snacks, basic repair kit, weather appropriate clothing and a roadworthy bike.
- Stopping off at an independent coffee shop for a quick post-ride refuel.
